SORS 2025

The BRCA 10th Off-Road Scottish Section invite you to join us for another exciting year of buggy racing in Scotland!

The series is open to drivers of all ages and abilities offers the chance to race against and learn from some of the country’s best drivers. The rounds will be hosted at three of Scotland’s clubs: 

• Glasgow RC, 
• Dumfries Model Car Club and,
• Stonehaven and District Radio Controlled Car Club.

Race Calendar

The winner of each Championship will be the driver that has the best 4 from 6 overall scores, that is of the six rounds of each class, your best four scores will go towards your overall Championship position and your 2025 Formula grade.

Be aware that digital images may be taken at these events and may be used to promote the Sport or Events.

Format

Each racer will see the following for each car entered:

• 3 min practice
• 4x qualifying heats
• 1x final each

A normal race day will roughly follow these timings for ten heats:

Note that this schedule can vary depending on the number of entries and the weather.

Entries

• Entries must be made via the BRCA website using a valid BRCA 2025 membership.
• Classes will be 2wd (one driven axle)  and 4wd (two driven axles) buggy.
• Normal entry is £10 per car for bookings made before 10pm on the preceding Wednesday to the event. This is to allow the entry system database to be updated in advance of the event.
• Late entries made between 10pm on the preceding Wednesday and 10pm on the preceding Friday will be £15.
• Racers under 16 on 1^st of Jan 2025 are free.

Refunds will not be given after the closing date for any confirmed entries that are cancelled, other than for exceptional circumstance

Confirmation of entry for all events will be communicated nearer the time, with further details of the venue.

Rules

Construction is in accordance with the BRCA rules (https://www.brca.org/10th-off-road-documents)

The permitted REAR tyres this year are:

• Schumacher Mezzo
• Ballistic Buggy Minispikes

Compound and quantity used is not restricted and front tyres remain open choice.

Random scrutineering and cell voltage checks can be made before each heat is run, Batteries and motors as per BRCA Handbook.

All marshals must wear high visibility clothing when on the track.

Conduct

Always behave appropriately at all times. There are children and families present at all race meetings including spectators and visitors. We want everyone to enjoy themselves and enjoy the meetings!
