The British Radio Car Association is proud to announce that John Russell has been awarded a BRCA Fellowship, recognising his outstanding dedication, leadership, and decades of service to the sport of radio-controlled car racing in the United Kingdom.
For over five decades, John has been at the heart of RC racing — as a racer, organiser, mentor, and ambassador. His knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm have made a lasting impact not only within the BRCA but also across the wider RC community, both nationally and internationally.
John’s involvement with the BRCA dates back to the early years of the Association. Over time, he has held numerous key roles, contributed to rule development, event organisation, and has consistently worked to raise the standard of RC racing in the UK.
In more recent years, John’s expertise and leadership were instrumental in supporting high-profile events such as the EFRA European Championships at Halifax, where his work and that of the Halifax team received widespread recognition. His ability to combine technical precision with approachability has earned him respect from competitors and officials alike.
Beyond his technical contributions, John has always been known for his mentorship and encouragement of others. Countless racers, from juniors to seasoned champions, have benefited from his advice, calm guidance, and deep understanding of the sport.
The BRCA Fellowship is one of the Association’s highest honours, reserved for individuals whose contributions have significantly shaped and strengthened the organisation.
John’s Fellowship acknowledges not only his service to the sport but also the integrity, passion, and generosity of spirit with which he has represented the BRCA throughout his career.
Speaking on the award, BRCA Chairman Darren Newton said:
“John Russell’s contribution to the BRCA and to RC racing as a whole is immeasurable. His professionalism, experience, and willingness to support others have left a legacy that will continue to benefit the sport for years to come. This Fellowship is a fitting recognition of a lifetime dedicated to RC racing.”
As the BRCA continues to evolve, it does so on the foundations built by individuals like John Russell — people whose vision and commitment have helped make RC racing in the UK one of the most respected motorsport communities in the world.
The entire Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to John Russell on receiving his BRCA Fellowship — a truly well-deserved honour for a lifetime of contribution and excellence.

The British Radio Car Association (BRCA) is undertaking an important update to its online systems to ensure the highest possible level of security and data protection for all members.
Part of this process, all members must complete the password reset and renew their membership for the 2026 season before 1st January 2026.
This update is critical to maintaining the integrity and safety of member information following the security improvements made earlier this year.
Members who do not complete these steps before 1st January 2026 will have their accounts permanently deleted as part of our data security programme.
This deletion will include the removal of your BRCA number, meaning it cannot be recovered or reissued. A new number would be assigned if you rejoin at a later date.
The BRCA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and data management.
The deletion of obsolete or inactive accounts ensures:
This measure is part of the Association’s ongoing investment in secure, reliable digital systems for all members. Deadline: 1st January 2026
To keep your BRCA membership active and protect your BRCA number:
Reset your password
Renew for 2026
Log in to confirm your details are correct
If you experience any issues logging in or resetting your password, please contact the membership team at: www.brca.org/contact
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in keeping the BRCA’s systems safe, secure, and future-ready.
As we approach the end of the current membership term, the British Radio Car Association (BRCA) is reminding all members to reset their account passwords and check their registered email address to avoid any disruption during the renewal period.
Each year, thousands of BRCA members renew their memberships at the same time. To ensure a smooth renewal process and uninterrupted access to events, it’s important that your account details are up to date and that you can receive BRCA system emails.
Reset your password – If you haven’t already done so recently, please reset your password now. This ensures your account remains secure and ready for renewal.
Check your email address – Members using Hotmail, Live, or Outlook may not receive BRCA emails (including password resets and renewal confirmations) due to ongoing Microsoft mail blocking issues.
If you use one of these providers, please update your BRCA account to use Gmail or another provider.
Log in early – Don’t wait until the last minute! Updating your details now will help avoid login delays and email delivery issues as renewals open.
Members who haven’t reset their passwords or who use blocked email services may experience delays receiving renewal confirmations or access to event bookings. Our support team will be on hand, but response times will be longer during the renewal rush.
Please take a few moments today to log in to your BRCA account and:
🔗 Update your email address and password at www.brca.org
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep the renewal process running smoothly for everyone.
The British Radio Car Association (BRCA) would like to make all members aware of an ongoing technical issue affecting email delivery to Microsoft-based email addresses, including Hotmail, Live, and Outlook accounts.
Due to external mail filtering by Microsoft’s servers, emails sent from the BRCA website and systems are currently being blocked or rejected. This means that members using one of these email services may not receive important messages, such as:
Event booking confirmations
Password reset links
Membership renewal notices
AGM registration confirmations
General system notifications from brca.org
Unfortunately, this is a long-standing issue that remains unresolved despite continued efforts and communication with Microsoft.
To ensure you receive all important updates and confirmations, we strongly recommend that members:
Use a non-Microsoft email address for your BRCA account – such as Gmail or any other provider.
Log in to your BRCA account and update your email address under My Profile → Account Settings.
Double-check your spam or junk folder for any missing messages while you make the change.
Without receiving BRCA system emails, you may miss essential event details, booking confirmations, and password reset emails, which can prevent you from registering for races or accessing your membership information.
We want to assure members that the BRCA has taken every possible step to resolve this issue with Microsoft, but no resolution is expected in the near future. Until then, switching to a different email provider is the only reliable way to stay fully connected.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to push for a permanent fix.
